Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting a Transport Planner for our Minworth site on a full-time permanent basis. You will oversee day-to-day transport planning, coordinating a busy fleet and handling customer and partner communications to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with an annual salary of £30,690. You will contribute to maintaining high performance standards by liaising with Traffic and Administration teams, updating reports, and supporting driver

Qualifications

  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
  • Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
  • Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
  • Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer.
  • Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
  • Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day planning of the transport operation.
  • Plan daily workload for fleet of vehicles based on/off site.
  • Handle queries from customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites by phone, fax and email.
  • Liaise with Traffic and Administration teams to maintain high performance standards.
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
  • Report problems and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support fleet and driver training activities as required.
  • Complete pre- and post-briefs for driver shifts.
  • Deliver timely internal and external communications.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our friendly team at ourMinworth siteon a full time permanent basis!

Salary:£30,690per annum.

Working hours:Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

As a Transport Planner you will overseethe day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.

Key Duties of a Transport Planner
  • Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
  • Planning daily workload forfleet: vehicles based on and off site.
  • Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
  • Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
  • Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
  • Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
  • Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required.
  • Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts.
  • Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications.
