Job description
Overview

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring all daily collections and delivery requirements are met, communicating with all departments on operational issues, and supporting the department to ensure compliance with all applicable legal requirements.

Details
  • Location: Hayes
  • Salary: £31000 + shift pay + overtime
  • Reports to: Transport Manager
  • Working hours: 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00; Shift-based (38.5 hours / 4 on - 4 off)
Overall Role Purposes

An experienced person with the capability to plan & manage vehicles for Import collections and Export deliveries from Heathrow.

Arrange ADHOC temperature-controlled collections under GDP compliance.

Ability to adapt and embrace change while keeping calm in a pressured time-driven environment.

Needs to be familiar with DVSA, WTD, and UK legislation.

To work as part of the transport team.

To be flexible with working times and days, to be part of a shift operation.

Needs to be able to communicate effectively at all levels, with a history of dealing with both internal and external customers.

Proven history in freight forwarding with the ability to demonstrate their forward-thinking attitude and how to compel others to follow the same.

Will be compliant in all company processes and procedures.

Needs to be a good problem solver and enjoy the challenge.

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Scheduling (preferable)
  • Good understanding of LHR and the GHAs that service the A/lines and their handling requirements.
  • Must have a full understanding Aviation Security regulation and ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Good knowledge of the air freight industry; previous experience preferred.
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety in the workplace as well as monitoring and enforcing all safe systems of work for drivers to follow.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to multitask.
  • IT generalist knowledge — ideally with previous experience working with Transport Management systems and confident using MS Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail, customer service, administration, and financial awareness.
  • 5 Year checkable work history.
  • CRB check.
