Cast UK Limited is seeking a Transport Planner to join their Huddersfield team. The role focuses on coordinating deliveries to be safe, efficient and on time, balancing customer demand with available resources and maximising fleet utilisation.

You will work with customers and internal teams to resolve issues, maintain stock levels, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while delivering high levels of customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven problem solving ability in a time-critical environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Clear communication and relationship-building across stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with planning systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory through stock reports and maintain minimum/maximum stock levels.
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to align supply with demand.
• Plan deliveries considering driver, vehicle and equipment requirements.
• Work with the Control Team to resolve issues and keep deliveries on schedule.
• Reschedule dropped or delayed deliveries to maximise fleet utilisation and service levels.
• Proactively communicate with clients about unplanned deliveries and potential stock issues.
• Identify and mitigate delivery risks to prevent stockouts.
• Ensure resources are planned cost-effectively while maintaining stock levels and customer KPIs.
• Maintain accurate records and KPI data as required by contracts.

Cast UK are working with a nationwide logistics company to recruit Planner to join their team based in Huddersfield. This is a key planning role responsible for coordinating and planning processes to ensure deliveries are made safely, efficiently and on time.

You'll play an important role in balancing customer demand with available resources, maximising driver and vehicle utilisation and ensuring all relevant safety, regulatory and customer requirements are met. The role will also involve developing strong relationships with customers, ensuring excellent levels of customer service and proactively managing any potential supply issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory through stock reports, ensuring minimum and maximum stock levels are maintained.
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to align supply with customer demand.
• Plan deliveries effectively, ensuring they are compatible with the available driver, vehicle and equipment requirements.
• Work closely with the Control Team throughout the shift to resolve issues and keep deliveries on schedule.
• Reschedule dropped or delayed deliveries where required to maintain customer service levels and maximise fleet utilisation.
• Communicate proactively with clients regarding unplanned deliveries and potential low-stock situations.
• Identify and eliminate any potential delivery issues that could result in stock outs and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
• Ensure resources are planned in a cost effective way while maintaining site stock levels and customer KPIs.
• Maintain accurate records and KPI information in line with contractual requirements.
