Job summary

Culina Group is seeking a Night Transport Planner in Doncaster to manage day-to-day transport planning on a 4-on/4-off night shift (18:00-06:00). The role involves coordinating with transport and warehouse teams, subcontracting, and planning fleet across the UK to meet tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate has transport planning experience, strong UK geography knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office and a TMS.

Qualifications

• Previous Transport Planning experience.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
• CPC desirable but not required.
• Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed under pressure.
• Customer focus on delivery performance.
• Analytical and Excel capability across standard formulas.

Responsibilities

• Work with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
• Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK.
• Plan daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and out bases.
• Report problems and deal with issues and queries that may arise.
• Plan collections per day on a time-critical basis.
• Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs.
• Proactively look for continuous improvements.
• Make decisions under pressure and to tight timescales.
• Be flexible and adaptable to peak periods, meeting business needs.
• Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support of Stobart’s volumes.

Job Description

As Transport Planner you will contribute to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.

Working on a shift pattern of4 on 4 off nights, 18.00-06.00

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Key Duties of a Night Transport Planner:

• Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS
• Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK
• Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and out bases
• Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise
• Planning collections per day on a time critical basis
• Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s
• Proactively look for continuous improvements
• Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale
• Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year
• Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support Stobart’s when volumes dictate.
