Job summary

Stobart (Part of the Culina Group) is seeking a Transport Planner to join the Goole site. You will manage day-to-day transport planning in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with transport and warehouse teams to optimise loads, schedules, and KPI delivery.

Key duties include assembling 400+ orders, coordinating subcontractors, and planning a daily fleet workload across UK depots. The role requires UK geography knowledge and proficiency with TMS systems, Excel, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
• Experience of planning units across multiple depots.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed under pressure.

• Commercially and financially astute and driven to deliver results.
• Experience of using a TMS system.
• Experience in an FMCG environment.
• Strong analytical and Excel capability across standard formulas.

Responsibilities

• Work with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
• Assemble 400+ consolidated orders into loads every 24 hours.
• Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple warehouse facilities and sites across the UK.
• Plan daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and outbases.
• Report problems and handle queries promptly.
• Plan approximately 100 collections per day on a time-critical basis.
• Maintain and exceed agreed KPI’s.
• Proactively seek continuous improvements.
• Make decisions under pressure and within tight timescales.
• Be flexible to meet business needs during peak periods.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team for our Retail sector at our Goole Customer site. As a Transport Planner you will be contributing to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.

Working hours: Working on a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off days, 6:00-18:00

Salary: £28-32,000 depending on experience

Key Duties of a Night Transport Planner:

• Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
• Assembling of 400+ consolidated orders into loads in every 24hr period.
• Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
• Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and outbases.
• Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise.
• Planning approx. 100 collections per day on a time critical basis.
• Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s.
• Proactively look for continuous improvements.
• Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
• Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year.
• Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support Warrens when volumes dictate
