Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Transport & Logistics Planner to manage day-to-day transport operations for a busy Crawley-based organisation. The role runs on a 12pm–10pm shift Monday to Friday, and is office-based in Crawley.

You will optimise driver schedules, monitor KPIs and ensure timely despatch. A strong knowledge of UK geography and customer service focus are essential to drive efficiency and service standards.

Qualifications

• Proven Transport or Logistics Planner experience, working in a similar role.
• Excellent operational and customer service skills.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.

Responsibilities

• Ensure driver team arrive on time and arrange cover for absences.
• Correct utilisation of staff and vehicles using the planner.
• Route all vehicles generating revenue with efficient plans to maximise vehicle usage.
• Maintain and update amendments so information is live for all to access.
• Handle driver and customer queries.
• Analyse delivery data to meet KPIs and revenue targets per vehicle.
• Arrange and oversee loading/despatch activity to ensure timely despatch.

Morgan McKinley is looking for an experienced Transport & Logistics Planner to work for a busy organisation based in the Crawley, West Sussex area. The Transport Planner will be working on a shift basis between 12pm-10pm Mon-Fri and will be responsible for the day to day planning of the transport operation.

Salary: £37-40K

Location: Office based - Crawley

Hours: between 12pm-10pm Monday to Friday

Transport Planner duties:

• Ensuring driver team arrive for work on time and arrange cover for absences
• Correct utilisation of staff and vehicles using the company diary sheet/planner
• Route all vehicles available generating revenue and solid route plans to ensure that routes are both achievable and vehicles are used to best efficiency
• Maintaining and updating any amendments throughout the day so the information is live for all to access
• Handle driver and customer queries
• Analysing delivery data to ensure the relevant KPIs and revenue targets are achieved on each vehicle.
