Job summary

WR Logistics in Crawley is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy distribution operation. You will plan the day’s transport, optimise routes and allocate a fleet of around 30 vehicles, with the day planner making final adjustments as required.

This role requires a proactive, independent planner with strong communication skills to coordinate drivers, warehouse teams and the wider transport department in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning within a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the South East.
• Experience planning multi-drop or pallet network deliveries.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident to work independently and make decisions during lone-working periods.
• Proactive approach with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise routes for pallets per day.

• Coordinate trunking movements and ensure efficient vehicle utilisation.
• Plan deliveries across key local postcodes.

Transport Planner (PM)

Location: Crawley

Salary: £37,000 per annum

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy and well-established transport operation in Crawley. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of one of the UK's largest distribution networks, playing a key role in planning the movement of (Apply online only) pallets every day.

As the PM Transport Planner, you will take ownership of the main planning function. You'll produce the primary transport plan for the day's deliveries, with the day planner making any final operational adjustments as required.

This position requires someone who is confident making decisions independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise routes for (Apply online only) pallets per day
• Schedule and allocate a fleet of 30 vehicles, including rigid and articulated vehicles
• Coordinate trunking movements and ensure efficient vehicle utilisation
• Plan deliveries across key local postcodes
• Monitor transport performance and respond to operational challenges
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse teams and the wider transport department
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation and company procedures
