Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Transport & Logistics Planner to join a busy organisation in Crawley, West Sussex. The role involves day-to-day planning of the transport operation, on a 12pm–10pm shift, Monday to Friday, and office based at Crawley.

You will coordinate drivers, optimise routes, monitor KPIs and customer queries, and ensure efficient use of vehicles and timely despatch to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Proven Transport or Logistics Planner experience, working in a similar role.
• Excellent operational and customer service skills.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring driver team arrive for work on time and arrange cover for absences.
• Correct utilisation of staff and vehicles using the company diary sheet/planner.
• Route all vehicles available generating revenue and solid route plans to ensure that routes are both achievable and vehicles are used to best efficiency.
• Maintaining and updating any amendments throughout the day so the information is live for all to access.
• Handle driver and customer queries.
• Analysing delivery data to ensure the relevant KPIs and revenue targets are achieved on each vehicle.
• Arrange and oversee loading/pre-loading activity to ensure a timely despatch.
