Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is recruiting an Assistant Transport Planner / Transport Planner for its Bristol team. You will support development planning projects from feasibility through to planning approval, working with senior transport planners and multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates have around 2 years' experience, a degree in a related field, and familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoTrack, ArcGIS and Junctions 10 ARCADY/PICADY. A strong client-facing and proactive attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree required in a related field (Transport Planning/Civil Eng/Geography).
• Around 2 years' experience in transport planning or development planning consultancy.
• Experience with Transport Assessments/Statements and Travel Plans; familiarity with AutoCAD/AutoTrack/Junctions 10 ARCADY/PICADY.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of development planning projects alongside senior transport planners.
• Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and related documents.
• Assist with junction modelling and capacity assessments.
• Produce vehicle tracking drawings using AutoCAD/AutoTrack.
• Assist with data analysis and accessibility assessments using ArcGIS.
• Liaise with clients, architects, planners and authorities throughout project delivery.

Assistant Transport Planner / Transport Planner - Bristol

I'm working with a well-established, award-winning multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an Assistant Transport Planner or Transport Planner (Graduate +2 years' experience) to join its growing Bristol team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a highly respected consultancy that delivers development planning advice on a wide variety of residential, commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, mixed-use and regeneration projects. You'll work closely with experienced transport planners and multidisciplinary design teams, gaining exposure to projects from initial feasibility through to planning approval.

The Role

You'll support the delivery of development planning projects, working alongside senior transport planners while developing your technical and client-facing skills. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and assisting with Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals and Delivery & Servicing Plans.
• Supporting junction modelling and capacity assessments using Junctions 10 (ARCADY/PICADY).
• Producing swept path analysis and vehicle tracking drawings using AutoCAD and AutoTrack.
• Undertaking transport data analysis and accessibility assessments using ArcGIS where required.
• Liaising with clients, architects, planners, local authorities and the wider design team throughout project delivery.
• Supporting planning applications and providing technical input across a diverse range of development projects.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
• Around 2 years' experience within a transport planning or development planning consultancy.
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoTrack and Junctions 10 (ARCADY/PICADY).
• Experience using ArcGIS would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
