Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Transport Planner to focus on development planning and shape transport strategies for UK residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The role sits in a technically strong, sociable team delivering high-quality transport planning support across the private development sector.

With 1-3+ years in development-related transport planning, you will work on TA/Statements, Travel Plans, site access reviews, masterplanning input, and liaise with planning

Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning or related field.
• Familiarity with TRICS, ARCADY/PICADY, LINSIG and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of the UK planning system and planning applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver transport planning services to support development proposals.
• Prepare Transport Assessments and Statements.
• Develop Travel Plans and Travel Demand Strategies.
• Assess site access, parking and servicing.
• Support pre-application work and planning appeals.
• Collaborate with planning consultants, architects and local authorities.
• Prepare technical reports and supporting documents for submission.

Are you a Transport Planner looking to specialise in development planning and shape the transport strategies behind the UK's most exciting residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments?

We're working with a growing consultancy renowned for delivering high-quality transport planning support to planning applications across the country. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a technically strong and sociable team, working across a diverse portfolio of projects in the private development sector.

Whether you're early in your career or looking to deepen your expertise in the planning space, you'll be supported by experienced professionals and exposed to all stages of the planning process.

Your Role:

You'll play an integral part in the delivery of transport planning services that support development proposals, including:

• Transport Assessments and Statements
• Travel Plans and Travel Demand Strategies
• Site access and layout reviews
• Masterplan input and feasibility studies
• Parking and servicing strategies
• Pre-application support and planning appeal input
• Liaising with planning consultants, architects, and local authorities
• Preparing technical reports and supporting documents for submission

Who We're Looking For

• 1-3+ years' experience in development-related transport planning
• Understanding of the UK planning system and planning application process
• Familiarity with TRICS, Junctions 9 (ARCADY/PICADY), LINSIG, AutoCAD
• Clear, concise technical report writing skills
• Enthusiastic, collaborative, and commercially aware
• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or similar
• Working toward (or interested in) professional accreditation (CIHT, TPS, ICE)
