Job summary

WR Logistics in Bristol is seeking an experienced Traffic Operator to coordinate drivers and deliveries, ensuring on-time service and adherence to customer requirements.

You will communicate with drivers, ports and customers, booking slots and recording times in the TOPS system, while resolving issues promptly to maintain efficiency. A 4 on 4 off night pattern applies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Traffic Operator.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to confidently communicate with drivers, customers and ports.
• Willingness to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
• Excellent knowledge of UK geography.
• Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to react quickly to changing situations.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible approach to meet the demands of a busy transport operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and communicate with multiple drivers throughout the day.
• Liaise with ports to coordinate deliveries and collections.
• Book delivery slots for port entries.
• Use the TOPS transport system to record driver start and finish times.
• Monitor driver ETAs and proactively chase drivers to ensure they remain on schedule.
• Reroute jobs when required to minimise delays and maintain service levels.
• Check and match all PODs against the correct jobs on the system.
• Communicate with customers regarding potential delays and provide regular updates.
• Resolve day-to-day transport issues quickly and efficiently.
• Ensure accurate and timely updates are maintained across the transport system.

The Role

An established and busy transport operation is looking for an experienced Traffic Operator to join its team.

You will play a key role in the day-to-day management of drivers and deliveries, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, on time and in line with customer requirements. The role will involve regular communication with drivers, ports and customers, as well as resolving issues and delays as they arise.

Shifts: 4 on, 4 off nights
