Driver Hire Ipswich is seeking a Traffic Operative to join a busy, dynamic transport office in Bury St Edmunds. You will brief drivers, assist with route and load planning, monitor live movements, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering clear messages to customers.

Starting ASAP, the role is temporary to permanent with £15.38 per hour and a view to £34,000 salary after transfer. Benefits include a staff pension, 26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, training and development,

• Strong knowledge of the UK road network.
• Experience in a fast-paced transport office.

Responsible for traffic operations in a busy and dynamic transport office, reporting to the duty Transport Manager.

Must‑have skills

• Strong knowledge of the UK road network
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced transport office environment
• Good communication skills for dealing with drivers and customers
• Competence with transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of driver hours, tachograph rules, and transport compliance
• Ability to work independently during quieter evening periods
