Overview

We are looking for a Transport Operative to join our Site Ops team in Trafford Wharf Road. The role focuses on providing excellent transport and supporting services, ensuring vehicles are maintained to roadworthy standards, rigorously checked and recorded, and meet all legal requirements. You will ensure all drivers are qualified and trained to drive safely and uphold high standards within the Transport Department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, maintain and supply a fleet in excess of 260 vehicles.
• Interact confidently, efficiently and politely with staff, senior management, producers and production crews/contractors.
• Handle requests for vehicles that may be out of the ordinary.
• Liaise with clients and third-party suppliers.
• Source vehicles to meet client needs/requests.
• Book vehicles and hand over to clients, including vehicle familiarisation.
• Check vehicles back in (off hire) and assess for damage.
• Carry out driving license checks.
• Complete and process relevant paperwork and charges; enter details into the IT system; report and follow up accidents to the insurance company.
• Ensure department processes and procedures are followed; take a proactive role in keeping processes up to date and fit for purpose.
• Assist with regular basic vehicle inspections and related paperwork.
• Co-coordinate/driving duties on Coronation Street and other productions/departments; perform general driving duties as required.
• Wash/clean vehicles and fuel vehicles.

Qualifications and requirements

• Clean UK driving licence.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours to meet departmental/production commitments.
• Previous experience in a transport or logistics environment is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail; strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• This role may require short-notice overtime and some long-distance travel to assist vehicle movements.
