Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Hatfield is seeking a Transport First Line Manager to lead daily transport operations, ensuring safe, legal and efficient execution to meet SLAs and KPIs. You will oversee driver and fleet compliance and serve as the escalation point for day-to-day issues.

With 40 hours per week across Tue-Sat, you will coach a team, manage absence and performance, drive cost efficiencies, and uphold DHL’s safety standards in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Preferable transport experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good IT literacy with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to lead from the front with coaching and mentorship.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on and willing to roll up sleeves when needed.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations.
• Ensure driver and fleet compliance with legal and DHL standards.
• Escalate day-to-day operational issues and manage resolutions.
• Deliver a safe, efficient and effective workplace and driver teams.
• Schedule and conduct quarterly 1-2-1s with direct reports.
• Identify and implement cost-efficiency projects and improvements.
• Manage absence and performance in line with policy.
