Transport Manager

IMPACT EVOLVE is exclusively partnering with a fast growing business to find a Transport Manager who can take full ownership of UK-wide delivery operations.

This is a pivotal role. You'll be responsible for both the in-house fleet and third party logistics providers, ensuring high service levels, tight cost control, and absolute compliance. You’ll be the strategic lead and day to day operator, balancing vehicle planning, people management, and data led decision making in a business that values operational clarity and customer excellence.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Fleet & Route Management

• Manage daily multi-drop and linehaul deliveries across the UK from a North London hub
  
  

• Maximise vehicle utilisation, reduce empty miles, and improve routing through better planning and collaboration
  
  

• Work with planning tools and manual processes to continuously refine delivery schedules
  
  

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of professional drivers
  
  

• Oversee rota planning, licence and tacho compliance, driver assessments, and ongoing training
  
  

• Build a culture of trust, safety, and high performance
  
  

3PL Oversight

• Manage relationships with external transport providers
  
  

• Monitor SLA performance, costs, and issue resolution
  
  

• Ensure a seamless partnership between internal fleet and external capacity
  
  

Transport Compliance

• Ensure all vehicles and drivers meet legal, safety, and Operator Licence conditions
  
  

• Oversee regular preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), MOTs, defect reporting and DVSA audit readiness.
  
  

• Keep up-to-date transport records and ensure working time / drivers’ hours compliance.
  
  

Cost Control & KPI Management

• Review transport costs, track performance against agreed KPIs, and identify opportunities for savings.
  
  

• Use data and Excel confidently to spot trends, diagnose issues, and present insight-driven plans.
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with warehouse, supply chain, and customer service teams to protect delivery performance.
  
  

• Proactively resolve day-to-day issues and support continuous improvement across the end-to-end operation.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• CPC-qualified Transport Manager eligible to be named on the company’s Operator Licence
  
  

• Experience managing in-house fleets and 3PL partners in a B2B or consumer delivery environment
  
  

• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, DVSA standards, and fleet compliance processes
  
  

• Operational experience with route planning, vehicle scheduling, and delivery performance optimisation
  
  

• A confident people leader — skilled at coaching, engaging, and holding teams to high standards
  
  

• Proficiency with transport systems, Excel, and performance data
  
  

• A calm, solutions-first mindset with the ability to work under pressure and across departments
