Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Transport & Highways CAD Technician to join our team in the City of London. The role focuses on producing accurate 2D CAD drawings for transport and highways schemes, with potential to develop technical skills within a specialist transport planning environment.

Applicants with AutoCAD experience and an interest in highways, transport planning or civil engineering consultancy are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience using AutoCAD in a professional setting.
• Solid understanding of 2D CAD drawing principles.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of work.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
• Proactive and able to work independently or in a team.
• Interest in developing knowledge within transport planning and highways.
• Experience in transport planning/highways/civil engineering consultancy would be beneficial; familiarity with AutoTrack and UK highway design guidance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate 2D CAD drawings for transport planning and highways projects.
• Preparing site layouts, highway access arrangements, junction layouts and parking plans.
• Assisting with vehicle tracking, swept-path analysis and visibility splays.
• Producing drawings covering servicing arrangements, highway improvements and pedestrian/cycle infrastructure.
• Working from architectural drawings, topographical surveys and other technical information.
• Updating drawings in response to feedback from clients and project teams.
• Supporting the preparation of planning application drawings and technical reports.
• Working closely with transport planners and senior technicians to deliver high-quality project work.
