Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Highway CAD Technician in Central London to support detailed highway design and CAD production across multiple transport projects. You will ensure construction drawings, plans, and schematics meet current standards and project specs, delivering accurate outputs for schemes around London.

Experience in highway design is essential, with a focus on producing and reviewing highway drawings and traffic management layouts within agreed timelines.

Responsibilities

• Produce, review and submit highway and civil engineering drawings.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings, schematics and technical plans for highway schemes.
• Produce Cycle Superhighway drawings and associated highway layouts.
• Produce Traffic Management drawings in line with project requirements.
• Prepare preliminary, detailed and construction stage civil drawings.
• Use 2D CAD software to support delivery of infrastructure and highway projects.
• Support design teams with coordination and technical drawing production.
• Ensure drawings comply with current design standards and project specifications.
• Work independently to manage assigned drawing packages with minimal supervision.
• Support delivery of transportation and infrastructure schemes across London.

Highway CAD Technician

An opportunity has arisen for a Highway CAD Technician with experience in highway design and CAD production to join a leading engineering and design consultancy in Central London. This role is primarily responsible for supporting the detailed design and delivery of highway engineering schemes, ensuring construction drawings, plans and schematics are produced accurately and in accordance with current design and engineering standards. The successful candidate will work across multiple transport and infrastructure projects while supporting the efficient delivery of schemes throughout London.

Previous experience within Highway Design is essential for this role. CVs with out Highways experience will not be considered.

Working within the highways design team your main duties include:

• Producing, reviewing and submitting highway and civil engineering design drawings
• Preparing detailed construction drawings, schematics and technical plans for highway schemes
• Producing Cycle Superhighway drawings and associated highway layouts
• Producing Traffic Management drawings in line with project requirements
• Preparing preliminary, detailed and construction stage civil engineering drawings
• Using 2D CAD software to support the delivery of infrastructure and highway projects
• Supporting design teams with coordination and technical drawing production
• Ensuring all drawings are completed in accordance with current design standards and project specifications
• Working independently to manage assigned drawing packages with minimal supervision
• Supporting the successful delivery of transportation and infrastructure schemes across London
• Contributing to programme delivery and ensuring deadlines are achieved
