Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Transport & Highways CAD Technician to join its transport planning team in London. You will produce accurate 2D CAD drawings for transport planning and highways projects using AutoCAD, guided by senior technicians.

The role covers site layouts, junction layouts, parking plans, vehicle tracking, and supporting planning applications. A proactive approach, keen eye for detail, and interest in transport planning are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings for servicing arrangements and pedestrian/cycle infrastructure.
• Work from architectural drawings and surveys, update drawings after feedback.

Transport & Highways CAD Technician

I'm working with a transport planning consultancy looking to recruit a CAD Technician to join its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with AutoCAD experience who wants to develop their technical skills within a specialist transport planning environment. Previous highways or transport planning experience would be advantageous but isn't essential, so the role could suit a CAD Technician looking to broaden their experience and build a long-term career in the sector.

You'll work alongside experienced transport planners and technical staff on a varied portfolio of projects, supporting everything from initial feasibility and planning applications through to detailed design.

The Role

• Producing accurate 2D CAD drawings for transport planning and highways projects.
• Preparing site layouts, highway access arrangements, junction layouts and parking plans.
• Assisting with vehicle tracking, swept-path analysis and visibility splays.
• Producing drawings covering servicing arrangements, highway improvements and pedestrian/cycle infrastructure.
• Working from architectural drawings, topographical surveys and other technical information.
• Updating drawings in response to feedback from clients and project teams.
• Supporting the preparation of planning application drawings and technical reports.
• Working closely with transport planners and senior technicians to deliver high-quality project work.
