The company prides itself on delivering excellent service and is seeking a Transport General Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics to oversee the end-to-end group sector Transport function.

The Role:

As the Transport General Manager, you will oversee multi-site transport operations, managing a team of over 300 employees and 400 vehicles. Responsibilities include:

• Leading the national planning team of 6 experts.
• Managing Transport Health & Safety, Driver Training, and Risk Assessors.
• Handling an annual budget of approximately £50m.
• Leading operational H&S, compliance, and fleet maintenance across national transport.
• Optimising logistics operations through internal synergy and continuous improvement in an open book environment.
• Implementing best practices and utilizing TMS & Planning platforms effectively.
• Supporting individual development and providing growth opportunities.

The Candidate:

Ideal candidates will have:

• Essential experience in Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain.
• Essential CPC National / International qualification.
• 5+ years of Transport General Management experience in a 3PL, FMCG, or Retail setting.
• Proven experience managing operations with headcount over 250 and assets over 350.
• Budget management experience of over £40m.
• A passion for people development, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Experience dealing with Unions (advantageous).
• Strong leadership skills and talent development abilities (essential).
• Lean Six Sigma or Prince2 certifications (advantageous).
• Must be able to commute to Northamptonshire 5 days a week (essential).
