**TRANSPORT GENERAL MANAGER**
East Midlands | Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 + Car + Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport General Manager to join a leading logistics company renowned for its commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This company is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in the retail sector, managing a substantial transport budget and a diverse team. The Transport General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving performance and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across multiple locations.
The Transport General Manager will be responsible for overseeing a c.£47m transport budget, managing a large team, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex operations and fostering strong customer relationships.
**Responsibilities Included**
- Ownership and accountability for the transport budget and operational strategy for direct to store deliveries.
- Resource management, including fleet build and renewal strategy, recruitment, and team development.
- Ensuring safety, legal, and policy compliance across all operations.
- Delivering operational solutions that meet customer KPIs and drive synergies across the business.
- Representing the contract at regional and national conferences to promote innovation and collaboration.
**Skills and Attributes**
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior Transport management role within a customer-led operation.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing large, complex Open Book contracts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to adapt operational plans to meet changing customer requirements.
- High level of self-awareness and a commitment to personal development.
