Job summary

Vector Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a hands-on Transport Coordinator / Fleet Support professional in Horsham. The role combines transport coordination with practical fleet support to ensure vehicles, equipment and personnel are in the right place at the right time, while keeping the fleet safe and compliant.

You will liaise with drivers, suppliers and site teams, manage schedules and fleet records, and assist with routine vehicle maintenance. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, fleet coordination or similar roles.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily movement of vehicles, plant, equipment and personnel.
• Schedule transport to meet operational needs.
• Liaise with drivers, suppliers, hire companies and site teams.
• Maintain transport schedules, fleet records and compliance docs.
• Monitor MOTs, servicing, inspections and vehicle performance.
• Assist with route planning and resolve transport issues.
• Deliver/collect vehicle parts and company vehicles.
• Carry out minor vehicle repairs and basic safety checks.
• Report defects and arrange repairs as required.
• Provide general logistical support to operational teams.

Salary: £32,400 per annum + Company Van

About the Role

Vector Recruitment Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a specialist infrastructure business for a hands-on Transport Coordinator / Fleet Support professional.

This is a varied role combining transport coordination with practical fleet support. You'll ensure vehicles, equipment and personnel are in the right place at the right time while helping keep the company fleet safe, compliant and operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily movement of vehicles, plant, equipment and personnel.
• Schedule transport to meet operational requirements.
• Liaise with drivers, suppliers, hire companies and site teams.
• Maintain transport schedules, fleet records and compliance documentation.
• Monitor MOTs, servicing, inspections and vehicle performance.
• Assist with route planning and resolve transport issues.
• Deliver and collect vehicle parts, equipment and company vehicles.
• Carry out minor vehicle repairs and maintenance, including changing tyres, replacing wing mirrors, bulbs, wiper blades and completing basic vehicle safety checks.
• Report vehicle defects and arrange repairs where required.
• Provide general logistical support to operational teams.

Requirements

• Previous experience in transport, logistics, fleet coordination or a similar role.
• Practical mechanical skills with the ability to carry out minor vehicle repairs.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience within construction, utilities or infrastructure is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
