Job summary

Talented People is recruiting a Fleet Coordinator for their Salfords-based operations team. The role focuses on transport coordination, fleet administration and hands-on depot tasks, supporting the Transport Manager and drivers while ensuring safe, compliant operations.

You will move vans around the depot, support MOT appointments and keep fleet records up to date, contributing to smooth day-to-day transport activities and excellent service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced transport or logistics environments.
• Experience coordinating transport operations or supporting a fleet.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to drive 3.5 tonne vehicles.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good geographical knowledge and ability to adapt workload.

Responsibilities

Fleet Coordinator

Location: Salfords, Surrey

Salary: £31,800 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday | 6:00am - 3:00pm

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

About the Role

Talented People Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Fleet & Transport Coordinator to join their established Operations team based in Salfods.

This is a varied role offering a great mix of transport coordination, fleet administration and hands-on operational support. Working closely with the Transport Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the transport department, supporting the company's fleet and drivers while maintaining high standards of communication, compliance and customer service.

In addition to transport administration, you'll also be responsible for moving company vans around the depot daily, delivering vehicles to MOT appointments, garages and repair centres, and supporting the upkeep and availability of the company fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the continuous improvement and optimisation of the transport department.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, ensuring they have the information required to complete their daily duties.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records, including defects, corrective actions and fleet documentation.
• Ensure the safety and security of company vehicles and their contents.
• Coordinate the collection and delivery of products between company sites and customer locations, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to resolve transport queries within agreed service levels.
• Assist in preparing driver briefings, communicating key operational updates, customer requirements and business information.
• Provide driver cover where required.
• Move company vans around the depot and yard daily to support operational requirements.
• Drive company vans to and from MOT appointments, garages, repair centres and service providers, ensuring vehicles are collected and returned promptly.
• Carry out ad-hoc basic vehicle checks, including tyre pressure checks, oil top-ups and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Support the Transport Manager and wider Operations team with general transport and fleet administration.

About You

• Previous experience working within a fast-paced transport or logistics environment.
• Experience coordinating transport operations or supporting a fleet.
• Experience driving vans (3.5 tonne)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• The ability to adapt quickly and manage a varied workload.
• A thorough understanding of fleet operations.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable

• Knowledge of MS Dynamics.
• Experience using routing software.
• Forklift licence.
