Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a proactive Transport Coordinator to join our busy team in WF2. This office-based role focuses on coordinating drivers, planning routes and handling reactive jobs to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.

You will manage schedules, adapt to changes, use scheduling systems, and communicate with drivers and engineers to deliver a reliable service. Experience with reactive works is particularly important.

Transport Coordinator

Location: WF2 (Office Based)
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
Annual Leave: 20 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off!

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a proactive and organised Transport Coordinator to join a busy team based in WF2. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you will be responsible for coordinating drivers, managing schedules, organising emergency jobs and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.

We are looking for someone who can think on their feet, react quickly to changing priorities and confidently manage reactive works alongside pre-planned jobs. Strong IT skills and experience using scheduling or management systems are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing drivers and coordinating their daily workloads.
• Planning and managing routes, including organising re-routes when priorities change.
• Booking and coordinating emergency and reactive jobs.
• Scheduling pre-planned works and ensuring jobs are allocated efficiently.
• Responding to last-minute changes and resolving operational issues quickly.
• Keeping systems updated with job progress, schedules and relevant information.
• Communicating effectively with drivers, engineers, technicians and other internal teams.
• Ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and customers receive a reliable service.

About You

We are open to candidates from a range of coordination-based backgrounds, including:

• Transport and Logistics
• Engineering and Field Service
• Security
• Telecoms
• IT and Technical Support

You may currently be coordinating drivers, engineers, technicians or field-based teams, booking them onto both pre-planned and reactive jobs.

Experience working with reactive works is particularly important. We need someone who is comfortable dealing with unexpected changes, making quick decisions and finding solutions in a fast-moving environment.

You will also need:

• Strong IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands.
• A proactive approach and the ability to think on your feet.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to coordinate multiple people throughout the day.
