Job summary

Pertemps Leeds is hiring a Transport Coordinator in Thirsk to join a busy logistics operation. You will support a 24/7 transport function with around 30 drivers, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and paperwork is kept up to date.

The role is hands-on, requires good IT skills, and experience with transport systems (Microlise preferred). Monday to Friday, 9:30am-5:30pm with some flexibility; pay £13.50 per hour; temp-to-perm position.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport, logistics or supply chain environment.
• Proficient with computers and transport systems.
• Experience with Microlise or similar Transport Management System.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage paperwork.
• Good communication skills and ability to handle drivers professionally.

Responsibilities

• Support the First Line Manager with the daily running of the transport office.
• Meet and greet drivers on site and manage arrivals.
• Complete transport paperwork and general administration.
• Support goods-in and goods-out processes.
• Coordinate deliveries for on-site operations.
• Liaise with drivers and other site teams.
• Update Microlise Transport Management System with trip data.
• Handle driver queries and help resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate transport records and paperwork.
• Support the wider transport team as needed.

Transport Coordinator

Location: Thirsk

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Contract: Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am-5:30pm, some flexibility may be required

We're currently looking for a Transport Coordinator to join a busy logistics and supply chain business based in Thirsk.

You’ll be working as part of a small transport office supporting a 24/7 operation, with around 30 drivers, 9 trucks and 2 shunters. This is a hands on role where you’ll work closely with the First Line Manager and help keep the day to day transport operation running smoothly.

The role

Your day to day duties will include:

• Supporting the First Line Manager with the daily running of the transport office
• Meeting and greeting drivers when they arrive on site
• Completing transport paperwork and general administration
• Supporting goods-in and goods-out
• Dealing with deliveries for the IPM operation based on site
• Liaising with drivers and other teams across the site
• Updating information on Microlise Transport Management System
• Dealing with driver queries and helping resolve any issues
• Keeping transport records and paperwork accurate and up to date
• Supporting the wider transport team as required

About you

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a transport, logistics or supply chain environment and be comfortable working in a busy transport office.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous transport or logistics experience
• Is confident using computers and transport systems
• Has experience with Microlise or a similar Transport Management System
• Is organised and able to keep on top of paperwork
• Can work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Has good communication skills and is comfortable dealing with drivers
• Is reliable, practical and happy to get stuck in
