Qualifications

Job Title: Transport Coordinator

About the role

We are recruiting for a Transport Coordinator to assist the Transport Manager with the day-to-day running of the operation, ensuring all legal, cost, and budgetary requirements are met, including tachograph infringements, routes, drivers’ hours, payroll, and compliance. The role involves briefing and de-briefing the Driver team.

The working hours are 40 hours per week over 5 days, which may include Saturdays and public holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Route allocation and adjustments
  • Ensure timely departure of routes and follow-up on late or no-show vehicles
  • Maintain records related to driver’s hours, licenses, tachographs, vehicle inspections, and safety compliance
  • Manage driver hours within legal limits
  • Sign off tachograph infringements and complete relevant documentation
  • Manage driver rosters, input payroll, and handle holiday bookings
  • Oversee absence management and related paperwork
  • Liaise with agencies for driver coverage
  • Investigate incidents and disciplinary matters
  • Monitor PDA compliance and on-route performance
  • Handle delivery issues and liaise with couriers
  • Ensure proper documentation for incidents/accidents
  • Participate in depot audits
  • Serve as key-holder and cover in the Transport Manager’s absence
  • Maintain staff training records
  • Conduct driver de-briefs and daily/weekly stock counts
  • Lead daily team briefs and handle escalation queries
Requirements
  • Understanding of the transport environment and LGV vehicles
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment
  • Class 2 LGV Licence (desirable)
  • SAP experience, including PO raising and invoicing
  • Knowledge of Microlise system (advantageous)
