Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting a Transport Coordinator for our Sheffield site on a full-time permanent basis. The role focuses on planning driver and vehicle resources to meet delivery times while complying with WTD and driver hours regulations.

The salary is £30,449 per year, with 4 on 4 off nights (6pm–6am). You will create daily run summaries, monitor service levels with other departments, and plan shifts within available hours, ensuring legal compliance and clear driver

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
• Planning and organising skills with ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
• Good IT skills including MS Office with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers’ hours.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and update daily run summaries to meet delivery/collection deadlines.
• Ensure service levels are achieved in collaboration with other departments.
• Plan runs using the Driver rota, considering holidays and sickness.
• Ensure legal compliance regarding defects, services and MOTs.
• Maintain clear communication with drivers including start times and load information.
• Adhere to health, safety and safe systems of work policies.
• Assist with disciplinary hearings and related return-to-work procedures to maintain standards.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Sheffield on a full time permanent basis.

Salary: £30,449 per annum.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 6pm-6am.

The purpose of a Transport Coordinator is to effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and driver’s hours’ legislation.

Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator

• Creating and updating daily run summary in order to achieve delivery and collection deadlines.
• Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
• Using the Driver rota, planning runs according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness.
• Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT’s, etc.
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers; communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc.
• Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, as well as all health and safety/safe systems of work policies.
• Assisting with disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, substance misuse procedures, etc in order to maintain standards and ensure that employees work at an appropriate level.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
• Planning and organising skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet set deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
• Good IT skills including MS Office packages with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.
• High level of attention to detail.
