Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting a Transport Planner at our Lutterworth site on a full-time permanent basis. The role involves day-to-day transport planning, coordinating a UK-wide fleet and handling customer/haulier communications.

Salary is £33,591 per annum, with working hours of 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm. The successful candidate will bring proactive problem solving, strong organisation and the ability to work well in a small team.

Qualifications

• Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
• Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
• Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
• Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
• Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the company and our customer.
• Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
• Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily workload for a fleet of vehicles.
• Deal with queries from customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
• Liaise with Traffic and Administration teams to maintain performance.
• Maintain/update spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
• Report problems and handle queries.
• Support the fleet and driver training team as required.
• Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts.
• Deliver effective, professional internal and external communications.

Job Description

Due to continued growth, our Lutterworth site are now recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our friendly team on a full time permanent basis.

Salary: GBP33,591 per annum.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm.

As the Transport Planner, you will oversee the day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.

Key Duties of a Transport Planner:

• Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
• Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on and off site.
• Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
• Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
• Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
• Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
• Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required.
• Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts.
• Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications.
