Job summary

EMED Group in Thurmaston, Leicester is seeking a Controller/Planner to manage high-volume, time-critical transport operations. You will plan and dispatch patient journeys, allocate crews and vehicles, and work with hospital staff to meet KPIs such as on-time arrivals and efficient turnarounds.

The role requires strong organisational and analytical skills, experience in regulated transport, and the ability to re-plan in real time.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated, time-critical operational environment.
• Desirable logistics/control/ analytical experience.
• Experience with KPIs and monitoring performance using systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily and future bookings, ensuring resources are correctly allocated and inform sub-contractors, taxis and crew.
• Dispatch and manage operational crews to ensure on-time pickups, deliveries and return journeys.
• Handle patient transport requests politely and accurately, ensuring procedures are followed.
• Perform clerical duties including checking booking lists and invoicing.
• Maintain accurate patient records and good housekeeping in the operating system.
• Improve service quality and performance for patients and customers.
• Liaise with GPs, Nursing Homes, Hospital Clinics and Wards.
• Coordinate end-to-end journey flow and re-plan resources to minimise KPI impact.
