Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Totton, near Southampton, is seeking a Transport Clerk to support day-to-day transport operations. You will help ensure deliveries run smoothly, maintain compliance standards, and provide drivers with the support they need to deliver excellent service.

Key tasks include managing POD documentation, briefing drivers, monitoring routes with Microlise, and keeping accurate transport records.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or distribution environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using transport management systems such as Microlise and Tachomaster.
• Understanding of driver hours regulations and Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Excellent communication skills for building relationships at all levels.
• Ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation, including scanning, uploading and resolving missing PODs and returns.
• Conduct daily driver briefings and debriefings.
• Monitor vehicle routes and driver schedules using Microlise; escalate issues when needed.
• Support the wider transport team with administrative and operational tasks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, transport legislation and Health & Safety standards.
• Identify and report operational or compliance concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate transport records and documentation.
