Job summary

Cast UK is recruiting a Transport Clerk to join a busy transport operation in Epping. This is a customer-focused role, acting as a key link between customers, the warehouse and transport teams.

You will coordinate orders, support drivers, maintain records and resolve queries to ensure high service levels. You will build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams, with responsibilities spanning data entry, scheduling, invoicing support and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Experience in transport, logistics or distribution is preferred.
• Good numerical and data-entry abilities are important.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders accurately and communicate delivery requirements to depot staff.
• Be the primary contact for customers and suppliers, handling enquiries and resolving issues.
• Support drivers with start-of-day and end-of-day processes, including dispatch and debrief.
• Enter data accurately across internal systems and reports.
• Book orders and maintain pallet and job reports for invoicing support.
• Ensure data accuracy, security and integrity across systems.

Hours: 10:00 - 19:00

Salary: £29,800 + Bonus

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Clerk to join a busy transport operation in Epping. This is a customer-focused role, acting as a key link between customers, the warehouse and transport teams.

You will be responsible for coordinating orders, supporting drivers, maintaining accurate records and resolving customer and supplier queries, ensuring a high level of service is maintained throughout the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer orders accurately and ensure delivery requirements are communicated effectively to depot staff.
• Act as a key point of contact for customers and suppliers, handling enquiries and complaints through to resolution.
• Support drivers with start-of-day and end-of-day processes, including dispatch and debrief.
• Complete accurate data entry across internal systems and reports.
• Book in orders and maintain pallet and job reports.
• Collate accurate information to support customer invoicing.
• Monitor and maintain data accuracy, security and integrity.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across transport and customer service processes.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, drivers and internal teams.
• Escalate issues appropriately where required.
• Maintain a safe working environment in line with company health and safety procedures.

About You

The successful candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to deal professionally with customers, suppliers and drivers.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good numerical and analytical ability.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with complaints or disputes.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• A professional and approachable manner.
• Pallet network experience would be advantageous.
