Job summary

Biffa Ltd is seeking a Traffic Dispatcher to organise day-to-day depot operations, allocate vehicles, and plan routes to ensure top-class service while maintaining health & safety and environmental compliance. You will engage in problem-solving in a dynamic environment and contribute to continuous improvement across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a transport, traffic dispatch, logistics or fleet coordination role is desirable.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to plan and coordinate daily vehicle routes and driver schedules.
• Strong communication skills when dealing with drivers, depot managers, customers and other departments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.
• Good problem-solving skills to deal with delays, vehicle breakdowns and operational issues.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and transport compliance.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support the smooth running of daily operations.

The Traffic Dispatcher is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day organisation of operations in the depot through the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. You will ensure best in class service delivery to customers, ensuring health & safety standards are maintained, and ensuring environmental and O licence compliance.
