Job summary

Biffa Group in Hersden is seeking a Traffic Dispatcher / Transport Administrator on a fixed-term contract to cover a long-term absence. The role runs Monday to Friday, 08.00am to 16.30, at location CT3 4GP, offering a competitive salary.

The dispatcher will organize day-to-day depot operations, allocate routes and ensure service quality. You will optimise routes, manage driver availability, oversee vehicle checks and maintenance, and handle payroll and tachograph records while upholding health

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a transport, traffic dispatch, logistics or fleet coordination role is desirable.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to plan and coordinate daily vehicle routes and driver schedules.
• Strong communication skills when dealing with drivers, depot managers, customers and other departments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.
• Good problem-solving skills to deal with delays, vehicle breakdowns and operational issues.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and transport compliance.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support the smooth running of daily operations.

You will ensure best in class service delivery to customers, ensuring health & safety standards are maintained, and ensuring environmental and O licence compliance.
