Hutton & Co (Ships Chandlers) Ltd is looking for an experienced Transport Administrator to join its team at its Hull Head Office.
As a ships chandler, Hutton & Co supplies vessels calling at ports across the UK.Transport operations therefore need to work around vessel arrival and departure times, with deliveries coordinated to ensure goods reach vessels when they are needed.
This is a varied, hands‑on role supporting the Transport Manager with the day‑to‑day administration and coordination of drivers, vehicles and transport compliance.You will be working closely with drivers and the wider transport team in an operation where priorities and timings can change, so we are looking for someone who already has experience working within a transport or fleet environment and can confidently get to grips with the role.
Your responsibilities will include:
Previous experience in a transport, fleet or similar operational administration role is essential.
You'll also need:
Experience of tachograph administration, drivers' hours, vehicle maintenance scheduling, driver licence checks or wider transport compliance would be particularly useful.
A Transport Manager CPC qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm, with one Saturday in every three from 8.00am to 12.00pm.
Some flexibility will be required to meet the operational needs of the business.
£30,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
