Biffa is seeking a Traffic Dispatcher / Transport Administrator to coordinate daily depot operations, assign routes and manage drivers to deliver top-class service. The role emphasises adherence to health and safety standards and transport compliance, with a focus on cost-efficient operations.

Traffic Dispatcher / Transport Administrator

Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00

TheTraffic Administratoris responsible for managing the day-to-day organisation of operations in the depot through the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. You will ensure best in class service delivery to customers, ensuring health & safety standards are maintained, and ensuring environmental and O licence compliance.

Your Core Responsibilities

• Optimising routes and vehicle utilisation to deliver top-class service.
• Managing driver availability and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Overseeing vehicle checks, safety, and maintenance.
• Handling admin tasks like payroll, timesheets, tachograph records, and reporting.
• Driving cost-efficiency by analysing depot data and improving operations.

• Knowledge of the local area.

• Previous experience in transport, logistics or traffic planning is desirable.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan routes, coordinate drivers and manage daily workloads.
• Good geographical knowledge of the local area.
• Confident using IT systems and transport planning software.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
• Good understanding of health and safety and transport compliance.
