Job summary

SP Energy Networks' Transmission Operations team is seeking a Scheduling Technician to develop and maintain detailed project schedules for major transmission infrastructure, coordinating with engineers, contractors and operational staff.

The role requires experience in heavy industrial environments, an HNC in Electrical Engineering, and a full UK driving licence. It offers a hybrid pattern with 3 days in the office, 2 from home, and a salary of £38,760 to £48,450 per year.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within heavy industrial environments including utilities or infrastructure.
• An HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in project scheduling or planning with industry-standard tools.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities across sites and teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for major transmission projects.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors and operations staff to manage timelines.
• Translate complex technical requirements into achievable schedules accounting for outages and resources.
• Monitor progress against plans and implement corrective actions.
• Understand project complexities to set priorities and constraints.
• Provide updates to project teams and senior management on schedule status and risks.
• Maintain scheduling records and documentation aligned with quality standards.
