Wilderness Way is hiring for a Children’s Residential Support Worker. Join a team dedicated to changing lives by providing a safe, nurturing home environment and trauma-informed support for children in care.

You will build relationships, support education and health, and help young people develop independence and resilience while offering ongoing training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals in care, education, youth work or similar environments.
• Be 21 or over due to regulatory requirements in children's residential care.
• Willingness to work toward a Level 3 qualification if not held already.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable driving as part of your role.
• Have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes, feelings and aspirations.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Managers, Therapists and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
