Job summary

Biffa Ltd is seeking a Transfer Station Manager responsible for leading health & safety, customer service, and profitability across multiple facilities. You will drive continuous improvement, manage staff, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, plus a proven track record in delivering KPI targets within a unionised environment.

Qualifications

• COTC IOSH Certificate is required.
• Experience as Operations Manager or similar in Services/Logistics.
• P&L experience and budget oversight.
• Experience in a unionised environment.
• Proven track record of meeting service delivery KPIs.
• Strong knowledge of transport/logistics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Health & Safety, site security and environmental compliance.
• Ensure service delivery meets defined KPIs and drives cost efficiency.
• Supervise, coach and train the team to deliver high customer service levels.
• Promote open communication across divisions and with external partners.
• Develop staff and implement best practices for growth and profitability.
• Manage full P&L within the facility and support regional growth initiatives.
