Job summary

SRG is working with a leading waste management and recycling company to recruit a Transfer Station Manager in Colchester. The role is hands-on, responsible for the day-to-day running of the transfer station and leading the site team to drive safety, performance and efficiency.

You will manage budgets, monitor KPIs and deliver continuous improvement, while building strong relationships with customers and suppliers. COTC and IOSH qualifications and experience in a similar facility are essential.

Qualifications

• COTC and IOSH qualifications required.
• Experience managing a transfer station, waste facility or similar operational environment.
• Strong leadership and commercial skills, ideally with P&L, transport or logistics experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the transfer station.
• Maintain high standards across safety, environmental compliance and site operations.
• Manage, coach and develop the site team.
• Monitor KPIs and improve productivity, service and cost control.
• Take responsibility for site budgets and financial performance.
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
