Job summary

WR Logistics in Eastbourne, UK is seeking an experienced Transfer Station Manager to oversee the Waste Transfer Station and Depot for Skip Hire and Ro/Ro services.

This full-time role covers on-site operations, fleet management, staff supervision, and ensuring environmental, health and safety compliance. You will lead process improvements and drive efficiency while developing opportunities and benefiting from a comprehensive training programme.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working for a Waste Management Company.
• COTC/WAMITAB Lvl 4 qualification is desirable.
• Previous experience as Transfer Station Manager/Depot Manager - or looking to take a step up.
• Strong demonstrable leadership experience.
• Previous experience with H&S and Compliance - IOSH/NEBOSH desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with environmental permits, health and safety regulations, and all relevant authority standards, including oversight of H&S, facility management, and emergency response.
• Lead and manage all aspects of site operations, including treatment plant, transfer station, vehicle fleet, staffing, plant maintenance, and contractor control.
• Drive operational efficiency and cost reduction through process improvements, full P&L accountability, and implementation of KPIs across all site functions.
• Oversee staff recruitment, shift planning, training, development, and performance management to align with business needs and promote a positive team culture.
• Develop and grow the business by identifying new opportunities, improving communication across sites, and ensuring accurate and efficient systems for invoicing and reporting

My client is looking for an experienced Transfer Station Manager/Site Manager to join their team based in Eastbourne, to oversee and manage onsite operations for the Waste Transfer Station and Depot for Skip Hire and Ro/Ro services.

Working Hours: Full Time: Monday - Friday (7:00am - 5:30pm)
