White Recruitment is seeking an experienced Transfer Station Manager to lead daily operations at a hazardous waste processing facility in Astley. You will oversee receipt, storage, processing and dispatch of waste materials, ensuring permits and safety standards are met.
The role requires WAMITAB/CIWM qualification and proven supervisory experience in a regulated environment; a UK driving licence is essential. The package includes a competitive salary and benefits.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
We are recruiting for an experienced Transfer Station Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy waste processing and transfer facility. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong background in hazardous waste, recycling, or industrial plant environments.
You will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient site operations, while leading and developing a small team.

Managing daily site operations, including receipt, storage, processing, and dispatch of waste materials
Ensuring full compliance with environmental permits and hazardous waste regulations
Overseeing plant, equipment, and site infrastructure to maintain performance and reliability
Monitoring stock levels, site throughput, and waste streams
Leading, motivating, and developing site staff
Driving high standards of health & safety, including audits, risk assessments, and procedures
Coordinating maintenance activities and managing contractors on site
Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and compliance reporting
WAMITAB / CIWM qualification – ESSENTIAL (candidates without this will not be considered)
Previous supervisory or management experience within a regulated environment
Background in hazardous waste, waste oil, recycling, chemical processing, or similar
Strong knowledge of environmental and waste compliance regulations
Full UK Driving Licence
NEBOSH or IOSH
Experience working with industrial plant or liquid processing systems
Forklift licence
Degree-level education (Chemistry or similar advantageous)
