Job summary

GET Staff is seeking a Tramper Driver in Hampshire to cover the Southampton and Portsmouth areas. The role starts at 06:45 and runs Monday to Friday with 4 nights out per week; occasional Saturday or Sunday runs may be required. Pay starts at £18.00–£20.00+ per hour for a minimum of 10 hours, paid weekly.

Temp-to-perm opportunities, immediate start, contract 14 weeks or ongoing. Ongoing work with potential for permanent positions, and a minimum of 1 year HGV driving experience is required.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV1/LGV1/Class 1 licence.
• Clean licence with up to 6 points.
• Minimum 1 year driving experience.
• Experience with HGV1 tramper/delivery work.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate HGV1/LGV1/Class 1 vehicles.
• Deliver to businesses with tail-lift offload.
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records.
• Perform pre- and post-shift vehicle checks.
• Maintain communication with operations team and customers.
• Adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations.

Tramper Driver (HGV1, LGV1, CAT C+E, Class 1) - Hampshire

• Suitable for drivers in the Southampton & Portsmouth Areas.

• Availability Required: Monday to Friday (4 nights out per week).
• Occasionally a Saturday morning run-in or a Sunday afternoon run out may be required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate HGV1 / LGV1 / Class 1 vehicles.
• Ensuring items are transported securely.
• All deliveries are to businesses, though most will require tail-lift offload.
• Some handball may be required, but any loose items are very light.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and safety regulations during operations.
• Ensure accurate completion of all delivery paperwork and digital records.
• Provide excellent customer service when delivering to clients.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after shifts, reporting any defects or maintenance issues.
• Work efficiently to meet delivery timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain good communication with the operations team and customers.
• Ensure compliance with the company's health and safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience Required

• Clean Licence (No more than 6 points permitted).
• HGV1, LGV1, Class 1 Licence (Required).
• At least 1 years' experience as an HGV driver is essential.
• Experience with HGV1 delivery tramping work.
