Job description

The Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Pension Fund is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and is administered by Cardiff Council. The Fund has 42 participating employers and over 45,000 Active, Deferred and Pensioner members.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team and undertake the role of Training Officer. You will need a good working knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme to be able to effectively train officers and review and update procedure documents. You should be confident in the delivery of training on multiple platforms including virtual and face to face and have a competent level of IT knowledge. You will proactively identify and respond to industry legislation, regulations, and guidance changes.

About the job

You will be responsible for:

  • The scheduling and delivery of Induction programmes for new members of staff.
  • Identifying, planning and delivering training for the administration team, on all aspects of pensions administrations.
  • To lead the development of training programmes for members of the Pensions Committee and Pension Board.
  • Conduct assessments to identify training needs and evaluate programme effectiveness.
  • Developing and maintaining a suitable library of training material, including manuals, presentations, and online resources, as a key resource to support business operations.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars both in-person and virtually.
  • Maintain records of training activities and participant feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.
