Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced Training Manager for our Doncaster site to design, implement, and evaluate training programs that enhance employee skills and performance. You will lead the training function, developing strategies that support colleague growth, ensure service levels, and drive organisational success.

The role requires proven training leadership, strong communication, and the ability to plan and multi-task in a warehouse/logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Training Manager.
  • Conscientious and responsible.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach.
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals.
  • Good computer and database skills.
  • Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a Site Training Matrix.
  • Design and Implement colleague training programmes.
  • Ensure site is legal and compliant.
  • Manage all site MHE training including new starters, multi skilling and refresher training.
  • Maintain compliance against internal and external requirements for areas including but not limited to Health and Safety.
  • Train the site's fire marshals, first aiders and safety champions.
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis and performance appraisals.
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods.
  • Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions.
  • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically.
  • Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary.
  • Maintain understanding of training trends and best practices.

We are looking for an experienced Training Manager, from a warehousing and logistics background to work at our new Doncaster site. The successful candidate will oversee the design, implementation and evaluation of training programs to enhance employee skills and performance. The Training Manager will lead the training function developing strategies that support colleague growth, protect service and ensure organisational success.

Training

Develop and maintain a Site Training Matrix

Design and Implement colleague training programmes

Ensure site is legal and compliant

Manage all site MHE training including new starters, multi skilling and refresher training

Maintain compliance against internal and external requirements for areas including but not limited to Operational effectiveness and Health and Safety.

Train the sites fire marshals, first aiders and safety champions

Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers

Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations

Deploy a wide variety of training methods

Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions

Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them

Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary

Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices

Any other duties deemed necessary to fulfil the role

Experience

Proven experience as a Training Manager
