Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced Training Manager to lead warehousing and logistics training at our Doncaster site. You will design programmes, maintain a training matrix, and ensure legal compliance across operations.

You will manage MHE training, inductions, and ongoing development, track ROI, and work with line managers to forecast training needs and budgets, while upholding Maersk's commitment to diversity and safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Training Manager.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong writing and record-keeping for reports and training manuals.
• Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Site Training Matrix
• Design and Implement colleague training programmes
• Ensure site is legal and compliant
• Manage all site MHE training including new starters, multi skilling and refresher training
• Maintain compliance against internal and external requirements for areas including but not limited to Operational effectiveness and Health and Safety.
• Train the sites fire marshals, first aiders and safety champions
• Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers
• Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations
• Deploy a wide variety of training methods
• Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
• Monitor and evaluate training program's effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
• Manage training budget
• Provide opportunities for ongoing development
• Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
• Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
• Any other duties deemed necessary to fulfil the role

Experience

• Proven experience as a Training Manager
• Conscientious and responsible
• A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
• Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
• Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
• Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
• Good computer and database skills
• Microsoft Office
