Job summary

DSV – Global transport and logistics is seeking a dedicated MHE Trainer in Mercia Park, Swadlincote. You will design, deliver and assess training for forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker, VNA and reach truck operators to ensure safe, compliant operation.

The role involves hands-on and classroom instruction, records management, and certification issuance. Your expertise in MHE operation, UK safety standards, and training program design will support continuous safety improvements and operator

Qualifications

  • Certified MHE trainer with recognised credentials (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT RTITB preferred).
  • Extensive experience operating various types of material handling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations related to MHE.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as necessary.
  • Gather feedback from trainees and managers to enhance training content and delivery methods.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in MHE technology and training techniques.
  • Assist in the development of safe operating procedures and risk assessments for MHE use.
  • Provide guidance and support to operators in resolving operational challenges.
  • Conduct refresher training sessions to ensure ongoing competency and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on training activities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records, including attendance, assessments, and certifications.
  • Ensure all training documentation is compliant with legal and company requirements.

MHE Trainer

The Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to new and existing operators of material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The trainer will develop, implement, and assess training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees, promoting safe and efficient operation of MHE.


What will you be doing?

About You

  • The role involves working in a warehouse setting and classroom environment.
  • Requires travel between different company sites for training delivery.
  • Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate training schedules.
