Job description

The role

At Southern Housing, our vision is simple yet powerful: to create communities where everyone has a safe home in a place they're proud to live.

We're one of the largest housing providers in the UK, but we're also deeply local. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, and we're looking for an exceptional Training Compliance Manager to help us create a culture where learning drives safety, compliance, performance, and outstanding service for our residents.

Reporting to the Head of Learning, this is a unique and multi-faceted role. You'll be comfortable wearing many hats; a brilliant learning facilitator, someone who loves compliance learning, and knows how to make it accessible, innovative and most importantly right for the audience. You'll enjoy motivating a small team and getting out into the business working directly with business leads and teams to get things done.

This is more than a compliance role.

At Southern Housing an amazing culture is key to our success, and in this role, you'll also work alongside other learning team colleagues to develop, design and deliver cultural learning activities, as well as support the design and delivery of core organisational learning covering many topics from induction, management development, customer service and more.

You’ll be based at one of our main offices in Sittingbourne, Kent or in the Isle of Wight, working a minimum of 3 days a week in the office delivering or working out and about across the organisation. It's essential to the success of this role to travel frequently around our regions.

Key responsibilities will include:
What You'll Need:
  • Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating engaging compliance learning
  • Excellent facilitation, training and presentation skills and knowledge of the application of blended learning methodologies
  • CIPD, Learning & Development level 5 or above qualification or relevant demonstrable experience
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated organisation and with CQS, local authority and Health & Safety training compliance requirements
  • Amazing organisational skills, ability to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and manage competing demands
  • Exceptionally comfortable and confident with change, ability to work effectively in an agile way and proven experience of supporting others to do the same
  • Total focus on delivering a customer centred service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a variety of media that engage the audience
  • Ambition to get things right first time with a focus on sustainable solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal, stakeholder management, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Strong understanding of implementing learning frameworks and protocols to support compliance
  • Strong people management experience, commitment to delivering excellence through others and nurturing a collaborative one team working approach. See below management indicators:
  • Ability and commitment to travel frequently and regularly to all Southern Housing locations including the Isle of White.
Closing Date: 16 August 23:59pm
Shortlisting Date: From 17 August 2026
Interview Dates: 26 and 27 August, Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne, Kent
Please note, we may close this vacancy early, if we receive a high volume of applications
