Job summary

Cardo Group is recruiting a Compliance Manager for Kingston Upon Thames to ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements in social housing. You’ll manage safety programmes, risk, and compliance across properties and operations.

You will lead gas, electrical, and lift safety inspections, oversee reporting to senior leadership, and work with asset management and repairs teams to implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a compliance or health & safety role in social housing or property.
• Strong knowledge of UK housing legislation and safety standards.
• Experience managing statutory compliance areas (gas, fire, electrical, etc.).
• Ability to interpret regulations and implement practical solutions.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Experience managing contractors and service delivery.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health & safety, housing regulations, and building safety requirements.
• Monitor changes in legislation and update policies and procedures.
• Lead as main contact for regulatory bodies and audits.
• Oversee gas, electrical, lift and equipment safety inspections.
• Ensure servicing and remedial works are completed on time.
• Maintain risk registers and develop mitigation strategies.
• Produce regular reports for senior management and board.
• Monitor KPIs and contractor performance against standards.

We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager to join our team in Kingston Upon Thames.

Role Overview:

The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all properties and operations meet statutory, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements within the social housing sector. This includes overseeing safety programmes, managing risk, and ensuring the organisation remains compliant with relevant housing legislation and standards.Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including health and safety, housing regulations, and building safety requirements.
• Monitor changes in legislation and implement necessary policy or procedural updates.
• Act as the lead contact for regulatory bodies and audits.

Oversee compliance programmes, including:

• Gas safety
• Electrical safety
• Lift and equipment safety inspections
• Ensure all servicing, inspections, and remedial works are completed within required timeframes.
• Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks across the housing portfolio.
• Maintain and update the organisation’s risk registers.
• Develop mitigation strategies and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and asset data.
• Produce regular reports for senior management and the board.
• Monitor KPIs and compliance performance metrics.
• Ensure contractors meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Procure services in line with organisational policies.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures
• Ensure staff are trained and aware of compliance responsibilities.
• Lead and manage compliance teams (if applicable)
• Work closely with asset management, repairs, and housing teams.
• Provide expert advice to senior leadership on compliance matters.

You Will Need:

• Proven experience in a compliance, asset management, or health & safety role within social housing or property.
• Strong knowledge of UK housing legislation and safety standards
• Experience managing statutory compliance areas (gas, fire, electrical, etc.).
• Ability to interpret regulations and implement practical solutions.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Experience managing contractors and service delivery.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Qualifications:

• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
• Degree or equivalent experience in housing, building, or compliance-related field (desirable).
