About the role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Training and Competency Supervisor to join our expanding T&C team. In this role, you will collaborate with our Financial Advisers in the North to develop practices that adhere to FCA guidelines, ensuring exceptional customer service.

Our team is dedicated to putting customers at the heart of everything we do, which has built our strong reputation. Your primary focus will be to ensure our customers are served appropriately. You will monitor the financial sales force to ensure they meet our high standards and report directly to the T&C Manager when standards are not met.

This dynamic role offers the chance to contribute to our Training and Competency framework. Your experience will help shape the future of T&C.

Your key responsibilities include establishing, facilitating, and implementing effective consultation with Financial Advisers on T&C scheme requirements. You will coach and assess Advisers to ensure they meet expected standards, providing support and guidance to help them excel. Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including Sales Managers, is essential. You will support adviser knowledge, ethics, and skills to improve quality performance and standards.

Certification: This role is subject to certification, which is an internal process in line with regulatory requirements, to be in place at appointment and annually thereafter.

Certified Function: This role is identified as a Certified Function for MSIL due to its responsibilities.

Manager of Certified Employees: This role manages or supervises certified employees and is held to the same standard of accountability.

About you

You will be a Level 4 Diploma Qualified professional (or working towards it), with experience in a Training & Competence role or as a Financial Adviser. You should have strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop a Training and Competency framework, ensuring FCA expectations are met.

You will support the business by monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on adviser knowledge, ethics, skills, and expertise, managing performance issues to ensure competence. You may need to assess, investigate, and resolve incidents, ensuring activities comply with regulatory standards.

This is a field-based role requiring weekly travel and access to a car.

Additional requirements
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and legislative frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in challenging situations.
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or working towards it.
