Job summary

First Base is seeking a Trainer / Instructor / Assessor to deliver classroom and practical training across a range of industry sectors. You will train and assess candidates to recognised industry standards and travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas to deliver customer training.

The role requires strong presentation and communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a customer-focused mindset.

Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

UK-wide travel and occasional international travel required

Hours: Full-time

Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:45

45-minute lunch break

Flexibility required for travel and occasional overnight stays, up to one week

Salary: £28,000 - £40,000

Key Skills of a Trainer / Instructor / Assessor

• Previous experience delivering training or assessments within relevant industry sectors.
• Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Customer-focused with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Criteria of a Trainer / Instructor / Assessor

• Minimum three years' relevant industry experience.
• Teaching, Instructor or Train the Trainer qualification.
• Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) and general Health & Safety qualification, such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
• Relevant operator and/or instructor licences.
• Valid passport where required.
• Able to pass a DBS check and obtain required security clearances.

Advantageous Experience

• Working at Height, Confined Spaces and Manual Handling.
• Lifting Operations, including overhead, jib and gantry cranes.
• NRSWA Street Works and Utility Sector training.
• Material Handling Equipment, Plant Equipment and Machinery.
• Health & Safety, including NEBOSH, IOSH and CCNSG.
• Abrasive Wheels, Power Tools and Construction Operations.
• First Aid and Fire Safety.
