Job summary

THX Ltd is seeking a trainee workshop assistant to help clean and inspect hire equipment as the workshop moves to new premises. You will learn inspection and repair of more technical items while contributing to daily tasks.

You’ll work Monday to Friday with possible overtime; relocation to MK43 0YL planned. A practical mindset, attention to detail and willingness to learn are essential.

• Exceptional eye for detail and ability to work accurately and quickly with numbers.
• Good computer skills and comfortable using a computer-based recording system.
• Self-motivated and prepared to take ownership of work.
• A practical, methodical approach with speed.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining equipment presentation.
• Inspecting and testing returning hire equipment (training provided).
• Ensuring THX identification numbers are clearly marked on all items.
• Using a computer-based system to record inspections.
• Regularly checking, cleaning and tidying the workshop.
• Providing support to warehouse, workshop and driving teams as needed.

Job description

We require an enthusiastic, practical and proactive trainee workshop assistant. With our workshop moving to new premises in the new year, you will help with the cleaning and inspection of basic hire equipment while training in the inspection and repair of more technical hire items.

Key responsibilities:

• Cleaning and maintaining the presentation of equipment
• Inspecting and testing returning hire equipment (training given)
• Ensuring THX identification numbers are clearly marked and visible on all items
• Using a computer-based system to record inspections
• Regularly checking, cleaning and tidying our workshop
• Providing support to our warehouse, workshop and driving teams as required

Monday to Friday working hours, overtime may sometimes be required to meet customer demand.

Currently based in Bedford (MK41 0QB), but relocating in the new year to MK43 0YL.

Essential:
